funeral

"Above and beyond any considerations of convenience or efficiency, the principal reason why obedience is so essential for the disciple of Christ is that it forms part of the mystery of Redemption: Christ revealed to us His mystery; by his obedience he brought about our redemption." Church document: Lumen Gentium

Tomorrow, Friday June 29th, in the morning. Greg and I will be attending the funeral of a sixteen year-old boy who was killed earlier this week in a tragic car accident. Our prayers are with him, his family, his friends, as well as with the other boy who died in the accident. We will, in a special way, be praying fervently for the lone survivor in the accident, for peace in his heart.

Requiem aeternum dona eis Domine, et lux perpetua luceat eis.
Te decet hymnus, Deus, in Sion, et tibi reddetur votum in Jerusalem:
Exaudi orationem meam, ad te omnis caro veniet.

(Grant him, O Lord, eternal rest, and may perpetual light shine upon him.
It is right, O God, to sing to thee a hymn in Zion, and in Jerusalem render thee a vow:
Thou hearest our prayers, to thee all flesh must come.)
